Continuing from where I left off last time, am going to show you how to get that much needed ranking back.
One of the steps most people take when trying to regain their initial position is to revert to the earlier version. This is a very good idea only if you have a version control system in place. Or you have multiple copies saved for situations like these. But this is not an option for most people. So, the first solution would be to check your alt tags for keywords. Google really frowns upon stuffing your image alt attributes with keywords.
Once that is done, the next step is to review your content for those keyword. The good thing about using Google is that it highlights the keywords for your searches. So, search your site for the keywords and on the result page on Google, select the 'Cached' under your result to see the keywords highlighted. This should give you an idea of what google sees when users search for those keywords.
Finally for today, its important that you know how long it will take the crawler to visit your site and index the next improved changes you've just made.
In my next blog entry, I hope to show you more was to alert Google crawler to new or updated contents on your site.
That's it for now folks!
